Meet the Staff

Dr. Ricardo J. Herring has been treating patients in the Birmingham Community since January 1995.  Formerly known as Herring Chiropractic Center  
Originally from New Haven, CT he was intrigued by the chance to come to such a historic city to open a practice.  Birmingham seemed to be a great fit to settle and treat a community that would benefit from chiropractic.

Dr. Herring is a product of Morgan State University a HBCU and Southern Connecticut State University.  Dr. Herring received his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Parker College of Chiropractic.  While attending Parker, he trained other students at Parker in Visceral Diagnosis and Physical Diagnosis.  Dr. Herring has taught Anatomy and Physiology at Miles College (HBCU).

Dr. Herring has served on the Alabama State Board of Chiropractic Examiners from January 2007 – December 2010.  Dr. Herring is also a member of Alabama State Chiropractic Association and the Chiropractic Society of Alabama.

Dr. Herring saw a need in a community and filled it.  Over our 27 years in practice we have treated a variety of patients.  Chiropractic patients are seemly life-long patients.  We are proud to taunt the fact that we are treating 3rd Generation chiropractic patients.  It has been exciting and rewarding to treat the children of patients that treated in our office as children so many years ago.  

Going forward, we are so grateful to all our patients over the years and we welcome you and all new patients looking for outstanding chiropractic services.  

Anita has been in the Practice since the inception.  Anita is I-Act certified Colon Hydrotherapist.  She has been administering colonics in our office since 2001.  She received her National Certification in 2002. 

Anita has been a CNA since 1979.  She received her geriatric training at The Jewish Home for the Aged, and clinical training at Yale New Haven Hospital.   
 
Along with a few other hats, Anita is the Practice Manager navigating the ends and outs of insurance, with and on behalf of our patients.  Anita interacts daily with attorneys and auto insurance adjusters for patients involved in auto accidents.  She was formerly employed at The Travelers in Hamden, CT.

Esther joined the practice in 2017.  She has been a valuable part of the practice navigating the front desk and patient interaction.  The patients enjoy her smile with her easy going demeanor.  She is always eager to lend a helping hand.  Her patient care is remarkable and our Hispanic patients find it very comfortable explaining their needs.  Esther is an excellent translator.

Esther navigates our social media 1 minute “Talk Back Thursday”, this allows our patients to talk about their experience on video!!  Seeing is believing. 
 
Everyone coming in contact with Esther adores her pleasant demeanor.  This type of care and compassion is from within.  The patients light up when they arrive.  Her skill level as a Chiropractic Assistant is second to none.  She is always willing to learn and lend a helping hand.  A True Asset!
